What do you see as the primary culprit? What you can do you do to combat it!

Surfing the web and computers games have given kids a new source of entertainment, but it also has its side effects. Kids in the "electronic" generation aren't getting as much physical activity as those before them, and along with the convenience of fast food restaurants obesity is on the rise. Let's not forget the age old problem of emotional eating.
Here are three key elements combating childhood obesity:
1. Be a Positive Role Model for Eating Habits. Eating while watching TV and video games adds up calories fast, and should be avoided. Keep portions appropriate. Supersizing meals may sound like the best value, but in reality it is teaching your children to overeat.
2. Get Physical. Whether it is taking a walk, or playing a game of basketball, being active on a regular basis helps keep children fit.
3. Teach Your Children to Resolve Their Emotions. Emotional eating is a huge factor in obesity. Obese children are usually very sensitive, and have to deal with insults and peer pressure to have a slim appearance. Living an emotionally balanced life by integrating the mind, body, and spirit connection can help children deal with peer pressure, and increase their positive self-image.
